Place the candle on a heat-resistant flat surface, a candle dish can serve this purpose perfectly. When burning multiple candles, be sure to keep at least 10 cm between them. Make sure the wicks are not too long; they are cut to size when shipped. They should be a maximum of 1 cm. The wooden wicks are best placed as low as possible to the wax. Be sure to let the candles burn for a few hours before blowing them out; this will give the top layer of wax a chance to melt nicely. When blowing out the candles, the use of a candle cover is preferred; this is to avoid splashing candle wax and to help prevent a wick from falling diagonally. Should a wick fall at an angle while burning, it is best to straighten it with a toothpick when the candle is blown out and the wax is still liquid. The wick is the heart of the candle, so it plays a crucial role in the burning of the candle. All wicks are thoroughly tested beforehand, but sometimes flickering or 'smoking' can happen. Before you relight a candle, always check the wick for length, for any 'mushroom' formation (this is a thickening at the wick end), and trim the wick to a maximum of 0,5 cm. It is also best to break off the wooden wicks, as far as possible up to the wax. Normally this should be enough to prevent smoke.

Atelier Felien is a big advocate of reuse. Atelier Felien will therefore always offer refill options. This means you can purchase a refill for scented candles without the glass jar, and the same applies to tea lights. Aluminum tea light cups can be reused several times. You just need to remove the metal wick from the previous candle, which is very easy to do using a toothpick or by pressing briefly on the bottom of the aluminum cup. The glasses can also be reused as storage jars because they come with a lid. The glasses are also easy to clean. If there are any candle remains in the glass, you can remove them by placing the glass in the freezer for a while and then removing the remains with a toothpick if there is a lot. Alternatively, you can place the jar in hot water so that the remaining wax melts, then pour it out onto kitchen paper and throw it away. You can then wash the jar and reuse it for your chosen purpose. We are working hard on special refills for the ceramic pots. These will be available as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can simply put tea lights in the refills or use them for something else. These ceramic pots can also be washed in the dishwasher, put in the oven, etc. Multifunctional!

This is no problem at all. All shipments are beautifully packaged and if you wish, a card can be added with a message for this person. You can mention this in the comments when you place your order.

Aangezien de meeste kaarsen en keramiek op vraag worden gemaakt en Atelier Felien momenteel een éénmanszaak is, moet je toch rekening houden met een leveringstermijn van 1 tot maximum 2 weken voor kaarsen en 6 tot 8 weken voor keramiek. Bij een bestelling van zowel kaarsen als keramiek worden deze samen verzonden. De leveringstermijn is ook afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid die je wenst,… Atelier Felien doet er alles aan om bestellingen zo vlot mogelijk te laten verlopen. Mocht je heel dringend kaarsen nodig hebben, aarzel dan zeker niet om dit bij de opmerkingen te schrijven als je jouw bestelling plaatst. De items uit de limited stock worden binnen 1 week verzonden.
